I ordered these golf balls for my husband who plays three times a week (or more). He goes through a lot of golf balls--not in the water--just by using them. He normally buys the more expensive brands, but I asked him to try these out. He did, brought all but one back, and said he would stick with the ones he normally uses. I don't know why he doesn't like them. I play about once or twice a month, so I put them in my golf bag. I don't play enough to say they're great or not. However, I do like the markings on the ball (an arrow) that help you line up a putt. As far as distance, I can't tell any difference; and the ball feels the same off the club. As far as I'm concerned, I would use them. I don't lose golfballs out of bounds or in the water, so this dozen balls would last quite a while for me. However, they are not cheap. So if you constantly lose balls or hit them in the water, I wouldn't recommend them.
Needed 2 Golf ball & got them.
Are use the Agapi golf balls in a simulator, and they seem to perform very well. I would say they seem to be a little bit longer off the tea and on approach shots.
I generally like these balls, but probably not enough to swap out for what I am currently playing (Titleist Tour Speeds), but they are directly comparable, probably more so than the Pro V1 they compare themselves to in terms of feel, distance etc. The tour speeds are the same price or cheaper, so I would probably just stick with them. Now, before I give you more details, understand I am a high handicapper with an OK swing but make all of the classic errors on a course that inflates my score. I can have runs of 5-7 par or lower holes in a row, then have a similar triple bogey run...Historically, I have played cheap golf balls because I lost them a lot. Now I play decent, but not necessarily premium balls, because I lose much less. I don't play premium balls because my game doesn't warrant it. Somewhere along the way, I found golf balls actually make a huge difference in my game. The current manifestation of that is the Tour Speeds. They work for me.These VS3 balls feel pretty similar to the tour speeds in terms of off the face compression with driver and long irons. Carry and roll seem about the same. I played both balls side by side for many holes, hitting the same shots with each. When my swing was ROUGHLY the same, the performance was roughly equivalent.Green side and on the green, I preferred the tour speeds, but only because I have played them more. I could probably settle into these around the green. Firm off the putter face ,but not like putting a rock.So.... if these were maybe $5 cheaper a dozen at list, I would consider gaming them. But current list is $5 away from current list for the tour speeds, and I trust the QC of the tour speeds more and prefer to putt them.
I hit this ball measuring flight patterns using a flight scope Mevo comparing this ball to a ProV1 and ProV1X.Without copying the data of 150 shots, I will just comment on the key takeaways. This V Super 3 has a slightly longer distance than a ProV1 hitting the ball the same speed and smash factor. Meaning you can swing 0.5 mph slower and hit it about the same distance. However, you don’t just get free distance from this ball for you lose 6.6% spin using this ball and lose a little height. It does feel slightly softer feel to it than a ProV1 but you really got to hit them side by side with a feel shot to tell the difference. I could also tell that these V super 3 balls were freshly manufactured from the off-gas odor the rubber core gives off when you cut one in half. You can see in the cutaway how thick the three layers are. The outer layer feels just as durable as the ProV1 and also gets scratched and scuffed like any other ball.As far as a Prov1X, the V super 3 doesn’t compare because the ProV1X has more spin and less carry than the ProV1 and feels a bit more crisp off the club face. I don’t play with a ball that has a lot of spin right now so keep in mind that you should choose a ball that suits your goals. So overall, I don’t think this is a bad ball, especially comparing it to such an elite benchmark. Considering many beginner golfers don’t necessarily need extra spin and rather look for distance then this ball probably makes more sense for more golfers than a ProV1 given the price point. So if you are extremely consistent and try to switch to this ball from a ProV1, you will probably have a little less spin and slightly more distance. You may also have a little less of a crispy touch feel with a putter.
